Sweet! Even the MacBook Air got a boost, 9 months after the first release in January. As with the rest of the MacBook line, the new Air features the Nvidia GeForce 9400M GPU and the Mini Display Port. The MacBook Air now supports DVI, dual-link DVI, and VGA video output. It will connect to the new Apple LED Cinema Display and can drive other displays up to 30 inches in size. Unlike many of the other MacBooks, it doesn't have the new glass trackpad.

The long-anticipated refresh of Apple's line of MacBook laptops finally happened, and brings with it not just the usual speed updates, but a whole new architecture that seems to be aimed at pleasing just about everyone, environmental groups included.

Grantwood Technology has introduced the MacVelope, a notebook sleeve designed for the MacBook Air, and the MacVelope Companion Bag. The sleeve is designed to look like a standard manila colored mail envelope, similar to what Steve Jobs used for demonstration at the 2008 Macworld Expo.

Air’s trackpad is based on the multi-touch technology, designed for the new Apple laptops series. It was used for the first time with the iPhone and experts are think that this is a truly a revolutionary technology, as unlike the common two-finger manipulations on MacBooks, the new trackpad can interpret various combinations of three-finger manipulations. A serious threat for a USB-mouse!

The keyboard is full-size with crisp keys just like the ones on MacBook. But MacBook Air goes further by adding backlit key illumination, making it easy to work in low-light settings.

The glossy 13.3-inch, widescreen LED backlit MacBook Air display is the same viewable size as the screen on MacBook. The 1280-by-800 resolution gives you vibrant images and rich colors at full brightness the moment you open MacBook Air. So you get full-screen performance with all the benefits of a slim design.

The most impressive thing is certainly how thin it really is: 0.16 to 0.76 inch of sleek! Just 3.0 pounds weight, this "skinny fashion model" looks really cool in its sleek, sturdy anodized alluminium cloth. It is more than portable — you just won't leave Air alone and take it with you everywhere you go.
