You don't like that sleek black case with just a little sheen and its nice straight lines? It just looks so sharp! I don't like how the Air has that funny thing where the edges stick up from the surface it's sitting on. It seems unstable and looks bad.
And that is *far* from the most important feature. Get real! It's a computer not a fashion accessory.
I'd take the Thinkpad. They have a very good reputation for durability, probably because of their IBM history. Opposite that, I picked up a friend's week-old MacBook Pro the other day and it wouldn't turn on. I plugged it in, and it said it was running on reserve battery power. It only took one week for the charger circuit to die? Even my crappy Gateway didn't do that!
The Thinkpad is also guaranteed to have a better keyboard. Thinkpad keyboards are fantastic. Apple keyboards...well, I went and pulled an old IBM keyboard off a mid-90s desktop because I couldn't stand the squishy thing Apple claims is a keyboard. Really, people, if it doesn't sound like machine gun fire when a fast typist grabs hold, it's not a good keyboard.
I am sure that Mac air is great, if you can stand the lack of optical drive, lack of user replaceable battery ( i wouldn't trust Apple's battery), one usb and no docking system... also don't drop it for christ sake, other wise you would have a very scratched aluminum casing, if not bent ....
i would get a mac air..
it looks very sleek and i think apple works good.
the only thing i would be worried about is having a crappy battery since its so thin..
apple is great, think pad doesnt sound bad either..
if its not appealing why buy??
almost every laptop these days do the same thing
Can I safely say that that is by far 200X Uglier than the Air? Because, we all know, that's the most important feature.

And it's X300 not 200X. Can you even read???
i hear the specs on this aren't that great in comparison...
