One of the real beauties of Yael Naim's success is that it comes as a complete surprise to her. The new hit song, "New Soul" was not written with the idea that it would become a huge commercial hit. In fact, the entire album was recorded using one computer in Naim's Paris apartment.
You'll have to forgive Yael Naim if she's at a loss for words. After all, she's still trying to figure out how all this happened.
Here is the whole song:

Personally I hate this song, there's nothing really catchy in it. It suits this useless computer very much.
The song is lovely! The girl is truly talented... I think many people are facinated with apple's new laptop mostly because of this soundtrack!
I am a PC guy, but I love this song!
SCREW ASH!!!!
YOUR JUST A FAG
DOUCH.
I love this song! It is so catchy! It was a good song for the commercial!
I love this song and my opinion has nothing to do with the new MacBook Air ..as for catchy who is this Ash person kidding ..catchy it is ..even if you don't like Macs this song sticks in your head
This song is one of the best. The instruments, melody and lyrics ... everything suits perfect to its happy mood. And this happy mood feels really genuine.
I was eating in a restaurant and the song came on. I was so excited to realize it wasn't just some little jingle, it was actually a song in its own right. Then I couldn't remember what commercial I heard it on...it took about 15 seconds on Google to find out! How nice that you have the whole song here on the Apple site. I already wanted to get the Air long before that commercial came out--but still, when that commercial comes on, I don't change the channel (as I normally do when commercials are shown).
WHOA
I just watched the video (not here, on YouTube, it's not here anymore for some reason) and I was totally blown away. That's one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. And I've been watching music videos since MTV began. :-)
Love Nael's album, can't play the song enough.
Hard to understand at first, but once you get
the lyrics down, very fun to sing along with.

Seriously folks!
What's not to like? I for one (Dez Blanchfield) say that if Apple's PR and Marketing partner of choice for the launch of the Apple MacBook Air is smart and savvy enough to find a hidden gem like this little ditty, and it was a hidden gem let's face it, and suit it to what has to be one of the most awesome yet typical Apple "launch video's" of all time (the one where the guy pulls the MacBook Air out of an interoffice yellow envelope).
And if they help either launch or boost an artists market position as well - surely that's the holy grail of PR and Marcomms right? Everyone should step up and take note, as this is how it's done when it's done right!
I think that many folk can though be forgiven for being a little envious if not jaded when they see the sort of output that comes from our dearly beloved Apple. From day one, the wow factor we have been taught to expect from Apple has been exceptionally high - they set the bar high from day one, the 1984 launch of the Apple Macintosh again not only blew the I.T. and Computer industry away, but the whole world - everyone at the time was talking about it - the guy on the street corner was aware of it, and the planet again was asked to sit up and pay attention, and we did, and many of us never looked back.
Even through the "dark period" where Job's and Co. were suffering a messy infight for the chairman role of Apple (let's hope that if Jobs does soon move on for whatever reason, we see a powerful and savvy woman at the helm, someone with the same ability to make the hard decisions and think outside the four pixels), even at their darkest hour, we were regularly asked to once again sit up and pay attention with the PDA of all PDA's the Apple Newton, then the eMac, which sadly should have set the world on fire, then came the portable Macintosh family, the Powerbooks, the PowerPC platforms, the Servers, OS X, XSan, and the list goes on!
The MacBook Air was, nay, is a very well thought out, extremely well executed, awesomely simple savvy and smart, and it went viral, what else could you ask for, seriously - to ask for more would seem greedy - so now let's look forward to what they do to top this ;-)
Cheers,
Dez
ps: yes, I now fly a MacBook Air !!
